Important Visa Instructions
You can apply for Indian e-Visa under 5 categories- Indian Tourist visa, Indian Business Visa, Indian Medical visa, Indian Conference Visa and Indian Medical Attendant Visa. A foreigner will be permitted to club these categories.
Applicants of the eligible countries/territories may apply minimum 4 days before the date of arrival and can be made as early as 120 days in advance.
Indian Visa can be availed for maximum of two times in a calendar year.
Applicant needs to upload a recent front facing photograph (not less than six months old) with white background and scanned copy of Passport containing personal details like name, date of birth, nationality, expiry date etc. The application is liable to be rejected if the uploaded documents and photograph are not clear or do not follow the specified instructions.
The applicant needs to upload other documents like cover letter of hospital while applying for India Medical Visa and copy of business card if applying for India business Visa.
Applicants should carry a printed copy of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) which was sent on mail along with them at the time of travel. Applicants can track the India visa status of their India Visa application online
The validity of Indian Visa will be 365 days from the date of arrival in India. Double entry is permitted on Tourist Visa and Business Visa. Triple entry will be permitted on e-Medical Visa.
e-Visa fee is country/Territory specific. Bank transaction charges of 2.5% will be charged additionally on applicable India Visa fees. The fee must be paid at least 4 days before the expected date of travel otherwise application will not be processed.
India Visa fee once submitted is non-refundable as the fee is for processing of the application and is not dependent on either Grant or Rejection of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
Visa is valid for entry through 28 designated Airports (Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh,Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Visakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (Cochin, Goa, Mangalore,Mumbai,Chennai). However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
