Indian Conference visa
India is a country having diversity in every speck of its existence. Each year India welcomes lakhs of people from a different country for many reasons. There are social and economic projects that make people meet with an agenda to fulfill. While people with different purposes apply for different types of visa.
What is an conference visa?
An India conference visa is an electronic visa granted to a person who wishes to visit India to attend or deliver international seminars or conferences. Usually, delegates from various countries issue the conference visa, however, they need to provide sufficient documents. To apply for this visa, one needs to submit an invitation they have received for the conference or seminar. The invitation can be from the ministry of India or the government of India, state governments, PSUs, NGOs and/or any organization under the state or central government of India, generally organizes these events.
Eligibility Criteria and Validity for Conference
The passport of the applicant should be valid for at least 6 months and have 2 blank pages for the entry and exit stamp/ stickers at the immigration.
Scanned copies of the latest color photograph with a white background.
Scanned copies of the first and last page of the passport.
Identity and address proof of the applicant.
Evidence of political clearance by MEA.
Evidence of MHA event clearance.
Apart from the basic documentation required for any visa application, the applicant needs to provide the invitation to the conference or seminar he/she is going to attend/ deliver.
The validity of the e-conference visa is limited to 3 months from the day it is issued. The holder of the conference visa is allowed a single entry and a maximum stay limit of 30 days during the visit.
If the applicant wishes to initiate or discuss any kind of business during the visit, he/she needs to apply for a business visa or the e-business visa. The conference visa is not extendable and non-convertible. However, it can be clubbed with a India tourist visa.
Processing of the India conference visa
The normal processing of the conference visa takes place within 3-5 working days with no extra charges.
The express processing of the conference visa takes place within 1-3 working days with some extra processing fees.
