The Government of India launched India eVisa system for foreigners travelling to India. It is initiated to make travelling to India a memorable and hassle free experience. eVisa for India has been sub-categorized into three types, India Tourist Visa, India Medical Visa, India Business Visa, India Conference Visa and India Medical Attendant Visa. The applicants can apply for any of these e-Visa categories depending upon their purpose of visit to India.
Before leaving their respective country, passengers must have a valid passport and a print out of their e-Visa, which was sent to their registered email. The validity of the India electronic visa ( India e Visa) will depend on the type of e Visa that the applicant has opted to visit India. The India tourist visa will permit a continuous stay of up to 90 days. The citizens of the United State, United Kingdom, Canda, and Japan will permit every continuous stay of up to 180 days.
The validity period for the India Tourist visa is 30 days, 1 years, 5 years and India business visa is 1 year respectively from the approval date. The India Medical visa and India Medical Attendant Visa both have a validity of 60 days, And India Conference Visa validity 30 days from the date of arrival into India.
The Indian electronic visa can be used to enter into mainland India and its territories through only 28 designated airports and 5 seaports. All the foreign applicants must arrive in India before their Visa expires. This type of visa can not be extended further and not valid to travel to restricted areas.
All applicants who apply for India e visa ( India electronic visa) are firmly advised to carry a copy of their approved e visa document all the time during their stay in India.
It is necessary that the applicant's passport is valid for at least six months from the expected date of arrival in India. Passports must have at least two pages because the immigration and border control authorities will stamp the document upon entry and departure.
